Endocrinology Learning Platform

Exploring Endocrinology: Clinical Frameworks, Cases, and Visual Understanding.

Welcome to Endo-Cases!

A learning platform designed to bridge basic sciences with clinical practice through structured frameworks, real-world cases, and visual learning.

Core Concept

Clinical endocrinology is, in my opinion, best understood, and best practiced, when basic sciences actively inform clinical reasoning.

Knowledge of physiology and pathophysiology explains how endocrine disorders present clinically—shaping which symptoms to explore in the history and which signs to actively seek on physical examination. Understanding disease pathogenesis then clarifies the relevant differential diagnoses and guides a rational, mechanism-based diagnostic approach. Finally, pharmacological principles connect these insights to practice, informing treatment choices and management strategies that are grounded in an understanding of how therapies act on the underlying disease processes.

This resource focuses on building the bridge between physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and everyday clinical decision-making. It demonstrates how mechanistic understanding actively shapes clinical reasoning, from recognizing and interpreting symptoms and laboratory abnormalities to selecting rational diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Through clear visual explanations, focused clinical pearls, practical frameworks and integrated real-world cases, the platform makes this reasoning process explicit. These formats are designed to show how basic sciences guide clinical thinking in practice, fostering understanding that is durable, transferable, and clinically meaningful.

Learning Formats
  • Visual illustrations of key physiological and pathophysiological processes, integrated throughout the platform to support conceptual clarity and long-term retention.

  • Clinical pearls that focus on a single, high-impact concept in everyday endocrine practice, each anchored in the underlying basic science to reinforce mechanistic understanding.

  • A clinical, practical framework to approach any endocrine problem, grounded in the traditional steps of history, examination, diagnostics, and management—and continuously informed by physiology and pathophysiology.

  • Clinical cases that bring everything together: real-world endocrine scenarios presented in an interactive, question-and-answer format, showing the clinical framework and basic science reasoning in action as patients are worked through step by step.

What This Learning Tool Is

Case-Based – Realistic clinical cases form the core of learning, simulating the complexity and nuance of everyday practice.

Interactive – Engages you actively through a question-and-answer format, exercises, and decision-making at every step.

Evidence-Based – Content is grounded in up-to-date guidelines, literature, and best practices in endocrinology.

Focused on Core Clinical Problems – Emphasizes the most common, high-impact, and practical issues encountered in endocrine practice.

Designed for Understanding – Prioritizes mechanisms, clinical reasoning, and decision-making over rote memorization.

Engaging and Practical – Created to be motivating, enjoyable, and closely aligned with the realities of clinical work.

Work in progress – I create content alongside my primary role as a doctor, so it will be produced at varying intervals and uploaded on a continuous basis.

Independent – All content is created independently and is unrelated to my clinical work or employer. I maintain no affiliations or sponsorships.

What This Learning Tool Is Not

An Encyclopedic Textbook – It does not aim to cover every detail or rare entity in endocrinology.

A Static Reference – Not intended to replace comprehensive reference materials, textbooks, or guidelines.

A Rigid Clinical Protocol – The frameworks and case pathways are flexible tools, not prescriptive formulas.

A One-Size-Fits-All Approach – Clinical reasoning will vary with context; this tool encourages thoughtful adaptation, not dogmatic rules.

Medical or Health Advice – This resource is for educational purposes only. It does not replace professional judgment, individualized patient care, or consultation with qualified healthcare providers. Decisions about diagnosis or treatment should always be made in consultation with appropriate clinical resources and guidelines.

Whether you are an endocrinology resident or a clinician interested in endocrinology, this platform is designed to make learning structured, clinically relevant, and visually engaging.
